Zero-Tolerance Policy Toward Plagiarism

Wisdom Vortex maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in any form. The journal upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and expects authors to do the same.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of copying, using, or presenting someone else’s ideas, text, data, images, or creative work as one’s own without proper citation. This includes:

  • • Direct Plagiarism: Verbatim copying.
  • • Self-Plagiarism: Re-using own work.
  • • Paraphrasing: Rewriting without credit.
  • • Data Fabrication: Falsifying results.
  • • Mosaic Plagiarism: Mixing copied content.

Plagiarism Detection & Consequences

All submissions undergo screening using Drillbit/Turnitin. Articles with similarity above 10% (excluding references) are flagged.

Plagiarism Level Extent Action Taken
Minor ≤ 10% Asked to revise and cite properly.
Moderate 10% - 30% Returned for major revision.
Severe > 30% Immediate Rejection & Potential Blacklisting.

*Authors found guilty of severe plagiarism may be barred for up to 1 year.

Ethical Guidelines

  • Cite all sources including own previous work.
  • State if adapted from preprints or dissertations.
  • Submit an Ethical Compliance Form with every article.

Handling Cases (COPE)

Following COPE guidelines, suspected cases trigger a formal investigation, author clarification, and if proven, Retraction or Blacklisting.

Retraction & Correction Policy

Retraction: Published articles with serious ethical violations or data falsification will be formally retracted. Online versions will be marked "Retracted" for transparency.

Correction: Minor typographical errors are handled via Erratum, while major errors affecting findings require a Formal Correction Notice.
