Wisdom Vortex: International Journal of Social Science and Humanities maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in any form. The journal upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and expects authors to do the same.
- Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of copying, using, or presenting someone else’s ideas, text, data, images, or creative work as one’s own without proper citation. The following actions are considered plagiarism:
- Direct Plagiarism: Copying text verbatim without citation.
- Self-Plagiarism: Republishing one’s previous work without disclosure.
- Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Rewriting someone else’s work without proper acknowledgment.
- Data Fabrication and Manipulation: Falsifying research results or images.
- Mosaic Plagiarism: Mixing copied content with original work without attribution.
- Plagiarism Detection & Screening
- All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using Drillbit/Turnitin before peer review.
- Articles with similarity above 10% (excluding references and commonly used phrases) are flagged for review.
- If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publishing process, the manuscript will be immediately rejected.

- If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be formally retracted, and a public notice will be issued.
- Authors found guilty of severe plagiarism may be barred from submitting to the journal for up to 1 years.
- Ethical Guidelines for Authors
- Authors must properly cite and reference all sources, including their own previously published work.
- If an article includes substantial content from an earlier paper, it must state: "This section is adapted from [Source]".
- Authors should disclose if their submission is based on a conference paper, dissertation, or preprint, and provide proper citations.
- Handling Plagiarism Cases
The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines in dealing with plagiarism allegations:
- In case of suspected plagiarism in a submitted article:
- The editorial team conducts a detailed review using plagiarism detection tools.
- The corresponding author is contacted for clarification and required to provide an explanation.
- If plagiarism is confirmed, the manuscript is rejected immediately.
- In case of suspected plagiarism in a published article:
- The concerned party is informed about the suspected plagiarism.
- A formal investigation is conducted by the editorial board.
- If plagiarism is proven, the article is retracted, and a notice is published.
- The author(s) may be blacklisted from future submissions.
Retraction & Correction Policy
To maintain scholarly integrity, Wisdom Vortex: International Journal of Social Science and Humanities follows a strict retraction and correction protocol:
- Retraction:
- If a published article contains serious ethical violations, plagiarism, or data falsification, it will be formally retracted.
- A retraction notice will be published in the next issue of the journal.
- The online version of the article will be marked as “Retracted”, but metadata will remain available for transparency.
- Correction Policy:
- Minor errors (such as typographical mistakes or author affiliations) can be corrected with an erratum notice.
- Substantial errors affecting the validity of findings may require a formal correction notice.
Editorial Responsibility & Author Compliance
- The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s ethical policies.
- Authors are required to submit an Ethical Compliance Form, stating that their submission adheres to plagiarism guidelines.
- If any ethical misconduct is discovered post-publication, the editorial board may take legal action if necessary.
