Peer Review Policy
Overview
Wisdom Vortex: An International Journal of Social Science and Humanities follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest quality of published research. This means that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process.
The peer review process is designed to:
Maintain academic integrity and rigor.
Ensure originality, significance, and methodological soundness.
Provide constructive feedback to authors for manuscript improvement.
Types of Peer Review
Wisdom Vortex: An International Journal of Social Science and Humanities employs the double-blind peer review model, where:
- Reviewers do not know the authors' identities.
- Authors do not know the reviewers' identities.
This system ensures impartiality and fairness in the evaluation of manuscripts.
Peer Review Process (Step-by-Step Guide)
Step 1: Manuscript Submission
- Authors submit their manuscript via the journal’s online submission system.
- The editorial team conducts a preliminary screening to check for:
- Compliance with journal guidelines.
- Plagiarism check using advanced software.
- Basic formatting and language quality.
(Manuscripts failing to meet these basic criteria are sent back to authors for revision or rejected outright.)
Step 2: Initial Editorial Assessment
- The Editor-in-Chief or a designated Section Editor assesses the manuscript for:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Originality and novelty of research.
- Quality of writing, clarity, and presentation.
- Ethical compliance (human/animal subjects, conflicts of interest, etc.).
- If the manuscript passes this stage, it is sent for peer review.
(Manuscripts that do not align with the journal’s aims and scope are rejected at this stage.)
Step 3: Reviewer Selection
- Two or more independent experts in the subject area are invited to review the manuscript.
- Reviewers are selected based on their:
- Expertise in the relevant research field.
- Prior experience in reviewing scholarly papers.
- Absence of conflicts of interest with the author(s).
(If an invited reviewer declines, the editor selects an alternative expert reviewer.)
Step 4: Peer Review Process
- Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
- Originality and significance of the research.
- Research design, methodology, and data analysis.
- Clarity of results and discussion.
- Ethical considerations and adherence to academic standards.
- References and citations (accuracy, relevance, and completeness).
- Reviewers provide detailed feedback with constructive comments.
- A recommendation is made:
- Accept (with minor or no revisions)
- Revise & Resubmit (major or minor changes needed)
- Reject (if the manuscript does not meet academic standards)
(The average peer review time is 4-6 weeks.)
Step 5: Editorial Decision
- Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes a final decision:
- If accepted, the manuscript moves to final proofreading and publication.
- If revisions are needed, authors must:
- Address all reviewers’ comments.
- Provide a detailed response letter outlining changes made.
- If rejected, the author is notified with feedback for improvement.
(Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the same reviewers whenever possible.)
Step 6: Final Acceptance & Publication
- Once revisions are approved, the manuscript undergoes:
- Final editing and proofreading.
- Typesetting and formatting.
- DOI assignment and indexing.
- The article is then published online with open access.
